Hello December! For once I'm not at all sad to see the month of November go because that means we are officially in the holiday season! With the change in weather I've been using some old and new favourites this month, so let's get cracking.

You guys, I'm obsessed with this Soothing Cleansing Water from Marcelle. I won't go into too much detail because I did an entire review post on this product comparing it to Bioderma, but I've gone through almost half of the bottle already!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen that I was invited to a Miracle 10 Skincare event this month, and they generously gifted me with a whole line of their products to test out. So far the star of the show has been their Light Serum. For a light product, this stuff gives my skin some serious moisture. I think of it more like a gel moisturizer than a serum, and I'll be doing a roundup of all the gel formulas I've tried in the coming weeks! 

For a while I was skipping eyeshadow for everyday, but this month I fell back in love with my original Naked Palette. I've been using a combination of Sin on the lid, Smog in the outer corner and a tiny bit of Naked through the crease and it has been a really pretty daytime shimmery look! 

I rediscovered this Rimmel ScandalEyes liner in Brown in my collection and have been loving it for tightlining when I'm using my Naked Palette. My go-to look for months now has been winged liquid liner, but I've found it looks really nice and fresh when I use this instead. I will say it does smudge a little on me so I'll be looking for a different formula when this one is finished - but a brown liner will now be a permanent feature in my stash.

Now that the weather has cooled down I have falled back in love with my CoverGirl Stay Fabulous foundation. Great coverage, lasting power and SPF is everything I need for day to day. If you haven't already given into the hype of this foundation and you have combination skin, I highly suggest you go pick it up!

This may come as a shock to you if you've heard my complaints about this product in the past, but I've done a complete 180 on the It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product. I was originally keeping it at Tyler's house to use, but the water at his house does terrible things to my hair so I think that's why I wasn't loving the results. When I took it home with me and started using it again I noticed such a difference! I now use it every time I get out of the shower.

The last favourite I didn't bother taking a closeup of since they just look like a pile of black fabric, but I have fallen in love with Old Navy's Yoga Leggings. I was on the hunt for a new pair and saw a recommendation for these. Technically they are workout clothing, but I wear them as I would any other pair of cotton leggings. They are a thick stretchy material that keeps my legs warm and doesn't stretch out so easily on the knees or fall down at the waist - hallelujah!

October being over is so bittersweet to me, we are officially one step closer to Christmas but also one step closer to the dark and cold of a typical Canadian winter. Instead of dwelling on what is to come, let's take a look at what I loved this month shall we?

 I lived in this Flannel shirt from Garage all month long. It took me so long to find the cut/colour combo that I wanted and now that I have, I have to stop myself from wearing it every single day. It is just the perfect piece for dressing up, and dressing down!

I'm not sure if it was the frequent travel for work or what, but the past two months had be wreaking havoc on my skin. Because I was running low on my favourite face wash, I decided to test out one from the Body Shop Tea Tree line. The Cool and Creamy wash isn't my favourite for every day since it's quite intense, but I like it for using in the bath or shower when I can let it sit on my skin for a few minutes. It almost feels like I'm giving myself a facial treatment.

For spot treating, I went back to an old favourite, the Clean & Clear Persa Gel 10. This stuff is serious business. I put this on in the evening over larger areas where I was breaking out and it really seemed to help kill the bacteria or whatever was causing smaller whiteheads. My skin is just returning to normal and I couldn't be happier!

Having smaller eyes, most of the time I think adding colour on the lower lash line looks a little too heavy for me. Since I've been loving cooler neutrals for the fall, I decided to try the Rimmel Scandal Eyes in Taupe on the outer corner of my lower lash line and it really helped define my eyes without looking too dark. I've been loving it especially if I'm wearing darker shadows as it helps balance and round out my eyes.

I found this Real Techniques Blush Brush on sale at Winners (a TJ Maxx equivalent) and immediately scooped it up. I am head over heels in love! It's a great size and shape and the bristles are super soft. I'm thinking of going back for another to use with bronzer, because the tapered tip is awesome for a more precise application!

A few months ago I picked up a sample of Lush's Lemony Flutter cuticle butter, and it was an absolute life saver as the cold started moving in this month. I'm a compulsive hand washer so my cuticles were in pretty rough shape. This rich butter is great for some super hydration. It's thick and a bit greasy so you may want to reserve it for night time. I feel like this sample alone is going to last me the whole winter, I need so little!

Finally, I'm not much of a brown person. I have naturally pretty full brows, and especially being a blonde never really wanted to do much that might make them look darker. When I rediscovered this Maybelline Define A Brow pencil in Dark Blonde in my collection, I started to use it to fill in some of the sparser parts in the inner part of my brows, and was surprised by the difference just the tiny change has made.

How sad is it that June is already almost over? Thank you for all your birthday wishes on Wednesday's post - you are all so sweet! Since I haven't done one of these posts in a while, I figured I would catch you up with some of the things that I have been coveting lately.

Not pictured above but definitely worthy of a mention, I am loving finally being able to work from my Zero Gravity Chair in the backyard on Fridays. If you don't know what a zero gravity chair is, you need to get yourself to the Home Depot and pick one up before the mad rush of July sweeps them out of stock for the rest of the summer. You can thank me later. Second, I am absolutely over the moon about my new camera and I think you are too! Alright let's get cracking.

I've talked about purple shampoos before, but if you haven't gotten the message let me reiterate. If you are a blonde that prefers your colour on the ashier side, you need one of these in your life. In the past I've used John Frieda, but Light Blue Shade is not only cheaper, I think works better. It has a lot more blue to it and it's super pigmented, so use once per week is plenty. I've had people ask if I got my hair redone after using this shampoo - it's incredible!

This Lavender Lemonade candle I got from Target isn't the most powerful one I own, but boy does it smell good. It is the perfect fresh smell for the summer. I featured it in my Paper Night Essentials a while back, but I have been loving burning it before bed to really help me settle in for the night.

Now that summer's here I'm getting all up into my faux tan routine. This Sugar Crush Scrub from Soap & Glory is my favourite part of the whole experience because it smells just so damn good. If you're a Coke with lime fan, you need this in your life. It actually manages to capture the smell of carbonation, how is that even possible?

Ralph Rocks is my all time favourite summer scent because it reminds me of two of my favourite people. My roommate in uni gave me my first bottle of this when we were packing up to leave school for good, and the first summer I started wearing it was the summer I met Tyler, d'aww. It reminds me of some great times and also smells super fruity and delicious. You can read more about my thoughts here. I think they may have discontinued it, sadly, but I'm still able to find it in little perfume boutiques and online.

And finally, my favourite summer discovery is this Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster from Clarins. This was also featured in my tan talk, so you can go learn more about it there but I highly recommend it for anyone who loves to slap on the SPF but is wary about using their body faux tan products on their face. I think I will be buying this every summer for the rest of my life.

Earlier this week we saw all the things that I polished off in the month of April, but what was I particularly fond of that might have been absent from that post? I'm linking up with Amanda and Kristin today to show you!

   

I include the L'Oreal Infallible shadow in Amber Rush in my picks for top products at the drugstore last week, and I've been loving it throughout the whole last month. It creates such a fresh, glowy look that seems to make my blue-green eyes "pop", but I honestly think it would look stunning on anyone!

The warmer weather has seen the return of my Talula army-style jacket and I can't get enough of the olive green colour - it looks great when paired with bright spring shades like peach and magenta. This jacket was expensive, but worth every penny. The hood comes in mighty handy for the bi-polar spring weather.

I'm a big fan of brown liquid liner for daytime, and I recently found this Femme Couture felt tipped pen at Sally's for $6.99. It seems almost identical to the Stila pen I was loving over the winter. Win!

I seem to have finally broken in my Tory Burch Revas just in time to ditch the tights for spring. They've become my everyday work shoes if I'm not wearing heels. Hugely expensive, I know, but I love how classic they look and they seem to go with everything! 

Stop the presses, a BB cream that finally doesn't seem to break me out. It's a miracle! This Garnier version for combination/oily skin is seriously amazing. Super light but fantastic coverage that wears great throughout the day. Be warned: the packaging does suck, but the product inside is worth the extra hassle!

I'm usually not much of an earrings person, but when I found some rose gold pave disks at Joe Fresh for $7 I was in love. They make a statement without being too obnoxious and heavy, and we all know how much of a magpie I am when it comes to sparkle! I've worn these so many times in the past month, I lost track.

Ah March, the month where we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel of winter. This year especially, I could not be happier to kiss February goodbye, but here's a look back on a couple of things that made it bearable. 

These Express Leggings have been all I've been wearing on nights out for the past two months. They look a little bit more "dressy" than jeans but are ten times as warm as tights. No way I'm going out the door without something serious on my legs in this -20 weather.

Sometimes all you need is a beachy candle to help you escape from the deep freeze. This Paradise Found scent is perfect for cuddling up at home because it is not overwhelming. Just go take a sniff at B&B, you'll thank me. 

A couple of weeks ago I had a weekend to myself and made it through almost the entire first season of Gossip Girl on Netflix. No shame.

I ordered this brush on a whim during the Coastal Scents 50% sale a few months back, and it has become my go-to foundation brush. Not only does it blend like a dream, it dries quickly after deep cleaning which means it will most likely be subject to  more ahem frequent cleanings than my Sigma F80.

If you are a fan of thrillers/mysteries, Dark Places by Gillian Flynn is an absolute must read. It is a bit graphic at times so be fore-warned, but an absolutely addicting storyline about a child-survivor revisiting the murder of her mother and sisters. Even better in my books than Gone Girl.

This bitter cold and super high winds has really done a number on my skin this year. I got a mini bottle of the Josie Maran Argan Oil in the Sephora Super Stars kit and I've been using it every couple of nights as a deep moisturizer. It does the trick without making me feel super greasy. 

I ended up caving and buying this Cocoon Cardigan and have pretty much been wearing it non-stop. Super comfy and warm, but still with some shape. Great purchase! 

And finally, something that I wish I didn't love as much as I do, this Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner really did live up to the hype. At $20+ a pop I'm not looking forward to having to dish out the money for another one, but it is so opaque, easy to use, and literally stays all day. Ugh.
