It's finally that time of the year friends. Bring on the hats! I already talked about how excited I was for this moment, but the weather has finally cooled down enough to rock the wool/felt hats without dying of the heat, and I am loving it!

I've had this tunic top in my wardrobe probably since late high school (I know!) and I've always found a reason to keep it around in my closet. I love the simple, comfortable style that can be worn casual and flowy or dressed up a bit with a belt to cinch in the waste and some high-heeled booties like these. The neckline embroidery and studding make it an accessory on it's own! The burgundy tone of this felt hat really helps pull the red embroidery out and make it shine. This outfit was so comfortable while still looking put together, I got so many compliments when I wore it out and about this weekend!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, but fall is my favourite time to play around with makeup. You don't have to be worried that your hard work will melt off your face in an hour, and the colours of fall are just always so inspiring! Here is a quick, slightly smokey FOTD I wore this weekend to welcome back the autumn!

If you're looking to amp it up a bit for evening, just pop on a deep berry lip colour. Because there isn't any heavy liner, the eye look still plays well with dark lips without looking too overdone. Even Tyler loved this look and he hates lipstick!

Plums are such beautiful colours, perfect for the upcoming Fall and Winter seasons. Plums I find are a little tricky because some are more red, while others are more purple. I think the easiest way to wear plum purples are on the lips and nails, so I will be showing a couple easy to find plum products.

Sole Mate has a red base, making it dark and vampy.

Purr-fect Plum is a deep, red based plum that's almost burgundy.

Gayle is a deep purple, similar to eggplant purple.

If you're a regular reader of this blog you may have noticed I'm not much of a shorts girl, I much prefer the feminine silhouettes of dresses and skirts. However, during the summer/fall, when I'm spending as much time as possible at the cottage, whether it's kayaking during the day or hanging out around the fire at night soft comfortable cotton shorts just seem to be part of my weekend uniform.

Scarves are an absolute staple in my wardrobe for the cooler months. While I may not have a ton of pattern in my wardrobe, I love using patterned scarves to add the finishing touch to my outfits. Silk scarves to chunky knits, there is a style and weight for every type of environment.

Classic coats are always something to get excited about. They can instantly dress up or dress down your entire look depending on the style. To me, spending a little bit more to invest in a great quality coat will never steer you wrong!

I was hesitant about vests last year when I bought this quilted version, but it turned out to be one of my most used pieces of the season. Whether or not quilted puffer styles are your taste, there are tons of different vest styles that instantly add texture and wamth to whatever you've got going on underneath.
