January is typically one of my least favourite months of the year, but between a tropical vacation and big life news, this month has to be my favourite January ever! I received a number of makeup related gifts for Christmas, which led to plenty of amazing new discoveries for me this month in the beauty world. So, let's get cracking!

Beauty Blender | This one completely surprised me, because I've been in a very happy relationship with my Real Techniques sponge for over a year. I had always wondered if the original was really any different, and I have to say sadly I think it is. There is something about the material that really helps blend liquids/creams without absorbing a ton of product. I've been storing mine in a recycled David's Tea tin, which is the perfect size wet or dry, travel friendly, and the lid makes for a great mixing palette when I'm combining foundations!

Sephora Solid Brush Cleaner | Which brings me to this product, which has made me dread cleaning my brushes SO much less. It's quick and easy to swirl brushes or sponges on the product, and it comes with a mini scrubbing pad which really helps work in the cleanser and get rid of all the dirt and grime even in dense foundation brushes. Just rinse & go, no dry hands or hours spent at the sink!

Sephora Mud Mask | I've been on the hunt for this mask since the fall but it was always out of stock, finally I got my hands on it and now I see what all the hype is about! It makes my face feel extremely clean without the dry, tight feeling post-rinse that I've felt from most other clay masks. I haven't had any significant breakouts all month long!

Coconut Beautifying Oil + Sibu Moisturizing Lotion | I spoke about both of these already in my post on banishing dry winter skin, but the combination has been pure heaven on my legs this winter. I've been swimming in chlorine pools multiple times a week so my legs have needed a little TLC, and this combo has given me the softest skin I've ever had!

Smashbox Primer Water | It's hard for me to put my finger on what this product actually does, but somehow when I use it my makeup just looks better. On top of that it smells and feel great to apply, which is likely why I've gone through over half of the travel size in just over a month!

Dream Smoothe Mousse | I've fallen in love with this all over again since coming back from vacation. The texture is so light it feels like you're wearing nothing on the skin, but the coverage is amazing!

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance | I wasn't big on the fuss of highlighting on an everday basis until I discovered this powder. It gives the most beautiful glow to the skin without looking chunky or over the top in the slightest. I've been wearing it basically every day since I first tried it!

Did you kick off 2016 with any new product discoveries?

We've covered the best skincare, haircare and nail products of 2015, so it's about time we got into the best of the best beauty of the year! Grab yourself a beverage and get comfy because I have a ton of amazing products to talk about today to wrap up my Hit List series for 2015!

Face

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ | This should come as no surprise to anyone who has read any of my makeup or favourites posts from the past six months.  Beautiful coverage and finish, an SPF of 50+ and great staying power made it my favourite product discovery of the spring. It's an easy one stop product that I wish came in more shades!

Maybelline Master Concealer | I'm still an avid user of my Coastal Scents Camo Quad, but this concealer became a handbag staple for me this year. The formula isn't too dry and has amazing coverage so it's perfect for a quick touch up or travelling since it can be used under the eyes or to cover spots on the face.

Maybelline Age Rewind Brightener | I rediscovered this product this year and have been using it every single day since. It immediately brings life to my face and makes me look awake and fresh even on days when I've gotten less sleep than I should have.

Skindinavia Makeup Setting Sprays | I also began to really appreciate setting sprays this year as my skin became a touch more dry. I use it in the winter as my only setting product to avoid any dry patches from powdering, and as a finishing spray in the summer to avoid makeup meltdown. The regular setting spray is my favourite but the oil control version was great in the summer heat!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette | These powders are a beautiful formula, and having an "all over" powder, highlight and bronzey shade in one palette makes it a perfect full face/travelling companion. I will say if you were to pick one I would go for the Dim Light, it leaves the skin with a beautiful soft focus finish that is like nothing else I've ever tried!

And once again Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed had to make an appearance for the second year in a row because it is my HG blush!

Eyes

Naked2 Basics | This is the everyday eyeshadow palette of my dreams. I love the cooler tones which suit my light & cool features, and the mix of colours is perfect from day to night. I use every single shade in this palette which is rare so it had to be included!

Maybelline Lash Sensational + Jordana Best Lash Extreme + IT Cosmetics Tightline | This trio of mascaras made for the best lashes ever in 2015. I've loved the Jordana mascara for a long time because it is super dark and dramatic, but layering it over the Lash Sensational, which is great for lengthening and separating the lashes, was a match made in heaven. The Tightline's teeny tiny brush and smudge-proof formula made it perfect for getting right to the root of the lashes for natural day or on the lower lashes for a more dramatic look.

Stila Black Stay All Day Liquid Liner | I'm convinced this is the best black liner on the market, full stop. It's tip is flexible enough for the perfect feline flick, without being too flimsy and messy. It's rich and black and seriously stays. all. day. and a tube lasts me at least six months. I did try the brown and was a little disappointed so I would recommend sticking to black!

Sephora Cup of Joe Wink-It Felt Liner | I picked this up after my Stila disappointment and have worn it nearly every work day since.  I don't love the tip or staying power as much as the Stila liners but the colour is a perfect opaque dark cool-toned brown, and nothing else has beat it yet!

NYX Brow Mascara & Anastasia Brow Gel | This was definitely the year of brows for me, and what a difference a little attention to them has made! The NYX brow mascara is the perfect budget friendly one-step brow product that I use everyday to define and shape my brows. Nothing quite holds like the Anastasia gel though, and if I was looking for perfect brows from morning to night, this was my #1.

Lips

Maybelline Lust for Blush Color Whisper | This was without a doubt my most worn lip product of the entire year. The natural cool pink colour, the silky formula, and the fact that it smells like fruit loops meant that it lived in my purse for easy access all year long.

NYX Butter Gloss | I'm not usually a lip gloss girl but the formula of these is simply beautiful. Thick enough to stick around on the lips but not sticky, they are just so comfortable and moisturizing to wear. My favourite shade was Creme Brule, but it met an untimely death one day when I accidentally crushed the tube on the kitchen floor (oops).

Maybelline Plum Please Color Blur | I had to throw this in as an honourable mention because the colour is so stunning! It's dark but still super flattering, and it's made an appearance in many blog posts in the past couple of months!

If you managed to make it to the end, thank you so much for joining with me in 2015 and recommending some of your favourites in the comments! If you missed them, don't forget to check out my 2015 standouts in the skincarehaircare and nail product categories!

Another year is quickly coming to a close and that means it's time to kick off my Hit List series for 2015 - rounding up all of the standout products of the year, starting out with my must have skincare items. This category has grown quite a bit from last year so let's get cracking!

Face

New Appearances:

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask | This mask may seem pretty boring, but it does incredible things for my skin. It was a lifesaver during our harsh winter last year and I kept loving it through the rest of the year for instantly making my face feel soft, smooth and hydrated.

Mario Bedescu Buffering Lotion | I've loved the Drying Cream for quite some time, but the Buffering Lotion was new to me this summer. I love that it's light and invisible and seems to do well with cystic acne which I was struggling more with in late summer/fall. It makes a difference without over drying, and I could wear it during the daytime under makeup which nudges it slightly over the Drying Cream.

FAB Eye Duty Triple Remedy | This took the top spot for day eye cream this year without question. I don't have particularly puffy eyes so I can't vouch for that aspect, but it is definitely very hydrating and the peachy tone is amazing for helping conceal darkness before concealer. To see it in action you can check out my "No Makeup" Makeup look for how I use it even on lazy days!

RapidLash | My natural lashes have never looked better than in the past year when I started using this growth serum. Since I have hooded eyes, the longer and more full my lashes look, the better my makeup looks in general. I'm not one to fuss too often with false lashes so having great natural lashes has done wonders to improve my confidence with minimal makeup. I can see why people splash out for eyelash extensions!

Repeat Winners:

These products all kept their top spots from last year and are staples in my daily routine. I'm sure you've heard me go on about them many times but if you want more information, you can read all about them in last years skincare Hit List.

Body

This year there is a whole crop of new product winners in the body category!

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer | I've mentioned a few times that I can be super lazy when it comes to moisturizing but it's an essential step for my skincare routine. The spray format and quick dry of this lotion have made it easily my most used of the year. Even though it is quick to absorb it still leaves the skin feeling comfortable and soft, and doesn't irritate my sensitive legs.

L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil | This is shower oil is my #1 favourite body product discovery of the year. The feel of this cleanser is unlike anything I've ever tried and leaves my skin feeling heavenly. It is pricey but I've had this bottle since the summer and it's still going strong, which is 100% worth the price to me!

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub | Exfoliation is a big part of my shower routine, and you just can't beat when you get the best of both worlds in performance and price. The Tree Hut scrubs are just the right amount of grit without being too harsh, rinse clean without any sort of residue, and all smell incredible for just over $5.

What were your skincare standouts for the year?

Tuesday, 17 November 2015

Well hello again friends! It feels like ages since I've been able to sit down and crack out a post, but my work life is starting to slow down slightly and I've been missing the blog community so much. What better way to come back than to show what has been in my regular rotation while I've been gone!

Mario Badescu Drying Cream | I'm not sure if it's the seasons changing or the extra stress that I've had going on since September, but my skin has definitely not been at it's best. For those large painful under the skin bumps, the MB Drying Cream is the only thing that seems to make any sort of difference. I'm so glad I picked up another one of these this summer!

Maybelline Master Conceal | Since there have been more spots needing covering and the air has become more dry lately my old faithful Coastal Scents concealers were becoming a bit too dry of a formula to cover up spots on the face without looking cakey or dry throughout the day. I love how thin in texture the Master Conceal is, while still doing an amazing job at covering. If you can find a shade that works for you I highly recommend you give it a shot!

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder | I went to a L'Oreal warehouse sale last month and stumbled back on my favourite old powder the Maybelline Dream Matte. Unfortunately I believe it's been discontinued in most stores, but if you can get your hands on it, it really is such a perfect powder for setting makeup without being heavy and keeping the majority of the shine away for the work day.

Benefit Coralista & NARS Orgasm | Since I've 100% lost all of my summer colour, I've been finding that brighter blushes have become much more necessary to bring back some life into my face. I love the soft look that Coralista gives with just a touch of Orgasm right on the apples for some extra colour.

NYX Brow Mascara | Since I've been coming home late and getting up early for work, my everyday routine has been pretty streamlined for the past month. This brow mascara is a life saver for shaping and giving enough colour to my brows for every day. Even though I obviously have blonde hair, I find the shade brunette looks much more natural!

Live Clean Apple Cider Shampoo | I've known for a while the fact that Apple Cider vinegar is apparently a great option to clarify and restore shine to flat, limp hair, but never wanted to try a straight vinegar rinse because I can't stand the smell. This shampoo is amazing is the best of both worlds -  it definitely removes build up and leaves my hair with it volume and bounce, but doesn't make it feel dry and stripped like most clarifying shampoos I've tried in the past.

What's been going on with you the past few weeks & have you been loving?

Thursday, 1 October 2015

October 1st? How did that happen? I feel like this year is just flying, but everyone always says that so let's move on. I missed out on my favourites last month, so this is a combination of what I've been loving over the past two months!
Z Palette | I bought my first Z Palette back in June and I've been loving it ever since! Not only has it helped me keep my depotted shadows front and center, it's also been great for all the short trips I've been making over the past few months to hold basically all my powder products. I love that I can cut down on the bulky packaging and streamline my storage!

Revlon Naked Skin Powder | I've had this powder for over a year, but because it's a little dark for my skin tone and the bulky packaging made it difficult to transport it never really got much use. This past month when sorting through my makeup I picked it back up, depotted it and fell in love. The texture and finish it gives the skin is so smooth, it seriously is like bare skin - but better. It's perfect for using on the perimeter of my face to bring some warmth and dimension and hold on to that summer glow just a little while longer.

Skindinavia Makeup Setting Spray | I've raved about this product before, but over the past two months I've been using it every single day. We actually had our hottest days of the year at the end of August and beginning of September, and this stuff would keep my makeup locked for my long days at the office and any activities I was doing in the evening without needing to touch up.

Sephora Instant Nail Polish Remover | PEOPLE. This stuff is magic. I always went for cheap nail polish remover from the drug store because I didn't think paying more would get me any different results. Oh was I wrong. This isn't even that expensive ($11 CAD) but it can remove the polish from both hands in under a minute, doesn't dry out my cuticles, and actually smells really nice! I did a quick demo on Snapchat this morning (tvibblog) if you want to see it in action!

Sephora Wink-It Felt Liner in Cup of Joe | I talked a few months ago about my disappointment in the Stila Stay All Day brown liner, so after that dried up I went on a hunt to find a new deep, cool brown liquid liner that I could wear daily. I picked up this one and the colour and staying power is spot on! I do sometimes notice a tiny bit of transferring to my upper lid, but I've still been wearing it every day for that quick cat eye that I've fallen back in love with.

Meta Grip Bobby Pins | This may seem a bit strange, but bobby pins have made SUCH a difference in my hair recently. I've given up using regular hair ties when putting up my hair at night, and have been using bobby pins to give myself a big loose top right before bed. The result: my fine, curly, frizzy hair in the morning looks like this. Not bad right?! Full voluminous curls with no kinks!

What have you been loving this month?

Thursday, 6 August 2015

Can anyone else believe we're already halfway through the summer? Already it's time to get into the monthly favourites, and I have quite a few things to talk about so let's get cracking!
Naked 2 Basics Palette | My Mum got me this for my birthday in June, and I've been using it every single time I've worn eyeshadow since. It is the perfect combination of cooler toned neutrals and one of the only pre-made palettes that I seem to get use out of all the colours. Even the darkest shade is very wearable!

L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil | Back in June I received a little trio of travel sized products from L'Occitane, and I fell in love with this product the first time I used it. It's an oil that turns into a milky cleanser once it interacts with the water in your shower. This stuff is probably the best shaving product I've ever used. It allows for a super close shave and leaves my legs feeling incredibly soft and smooth. I bought the full size product before finishing my travel size because I loved it so much!

NYX Micro Brow Pencil & NYX Tinted Brow Mascara | I've already done a full post on these products, but I couldn't leave them out of my favourites! These two fit exactly what I was looking for for my brows, and I used one or the other every time I wore makeup in July depending on what kind of look I had going on for the day. Check out my 4 Products for Better Brows post to read all about why I love them!

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen | If you follow me on social media you'll know I spent 10 blissful days up at my cottage in July. Even though it was hot and sunny, I'm very fair, and I spent most of the days outside, I never got a burn because of this product. It really does feel more like a lotion than sunscreen so I didn't dread applying because it never leaves me feeling tacky and gross. In fact, even though my legs are usually prone to dryness in the summer, it kept them feeling and looking moisturized all week long! For my face, I'm still just as obsessed with my IT Cosmetics CC+ as I have been for months because of the SPF 50!

Snapchat (username tvibblog) | For the longest time I thought Snapchat was a waste of time, but I did a complete 180 in July and think it was one of my most used apps during the month! I love how it's not about likes or comments, it's just simply about sharing scenes from life - unedited and unstyled. I think of it as a almost a mini vlog channel where I can get to know bloggers I follow a little bit more! Do you have a snapchat? Let me know your username!

What was your standout favourite in July?

Monday, 1 June 2015

Seriously how is it already June?! The spring always seems to fly by so fast, am I right? Unfortunately I spent about half of this month sick (including the past week), but somehow I still have a TON of new favourites this month so lets get cracking.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream | I already talked about this in my Beauty Basics - Sun Care post, but I fell in love with this almost immediately after trying it for the first time. I really is the perfect summer product. Since I have normal-oily skin I skip moisturizer and apply this to my freshly washed face, set it with some powder and I can be out the door. It has some serious coverage and I love the SPF 50+ so it's been my favourite for weekends this month when all I really care about are clear skin and lashes.
L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte + Garnier BB Cream | Since I ran out of my CoverGirl 3-in-1 foundation and decided I needed to use up others in my collection before repurchasing. I bought this L'Oreal Infallible in the winter, but found it too drying for my skin at the time. To use it up while the weather is warm I've been mixing it with my Garnier BB Cream for Combo Skin, which is currently too dark, to create the perfect in-between shade that lasts all day.

First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy | This eye cream has a peachy tone to it that really helps cancel out the blue tones of under eye circles and make things ready for concealer. It's got a little bit of coverage to it, so for days I'm just around the house or running errands this + the CC cream are my staple "no makeup" essentials.

Replica Beach Walk | I talked about this in my Spring Additions but I've been wearing this non-stop all month long. It's the perfect beachy summer scent that isn't overwhelming but every time I get of whiff of it during the day I fall in love with it all over again. I've made a pretty serious dent in it for only having it a month so I think that says it all!

RapidLash | Since I've been sick quite a bit of this month it's been all about the skin and lashes to me. I've had this for quite a while, but this month was the first time I was using it consistently and I definitely saw a difference in the length of my lashes!

IT Cosmetics Tightline Primer | I don't necessarily use this for it's intended purpose, but I've found it to be the perfect mascara for my lower lashes. I never used to use mascara on the lower lashes because they are already pretty long and most mascaras would end up looking unnatural and clumpy. This has the tiniest micro wand that is perfect for applying just the right amount of product to define them without looking too intense, and it stays on all day with zero flaking or smudging.

What did you fall in love with this May?

Thursday, 1 January 2015

Happy New Year friends! I hope you all welcomed in 2015 in safety and health. I came down with a pretty un-festive cold so I spent most of the night sleeping, but I did wake up with 30 seconds left to see the ball drop. In honour of it being New Year's Day, today I'll be kicking off my Hit List series - going through my standout products of the year over the next few days. First up: the beauty category! Here are the eye, face, and lip products that have topped my favourites list of 2014.

I recieved my first Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner in a Sephora Favourite's box last Christmas, and you all know I've been obsessed with it ever since. In the last year I have only had to repurchase one time, and that's using it basically every day. The longevity + performance of this product means that it is worth repeat buys at the higher price tag.

Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara is my holy grail mascara for building super dark, volumized and lengthened lashes at a ridiculously affordable price. I wish it was more accessible in Canada so I could use it always, but for special occasions this is always my go to!

I have naturally fairly curled eyelashes, so for years I never saw the point in adding an Eyelash Curler to my routine. After picking up the habit this year, I will never go back! It makes a huge difference in opening up your eyes no matter what amount of makeup you're wearing.

After being invited to their new store in Toronto in the fall of 2014, I immediately fell in love with the formula of Inglot Eyeshadows (full review and swatches here). At least one colour in this quad, the matte colours especially, has been worn in almost every eye look I've done since getting this palette.
After trying and hating so many variations of the hit "BB" products, I finally stumbled on the Garnier BB Cream for Combination Skin and found my perfect match. This product is light weight but gives great coverage, doesn't make me feel greasy, and doesn't make me break out. Match made in heaven!

The Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Roller has been a favourite for years now, but I couldn't leave it out because it is used every day, even when I'm not wearing much makeup. It's just one of those products that helps me feel human again in the morning without being heavy or cakey.

Tarte Exposed Blush was a new discovery this year, and quickly trumped every other blush I've ever tried. The colour, the formula, and the way it looks and lasts on the cheeks are all perfection. It is the perfect rosey tan that looks beautiful no matter the season. I don't think I'll ever be without this product in my collection from here on out.

Stay Matte Powder was a faithful companion to my foundation in 2014. It is the type of powder that you apply once, and you don't have to worry about touching up throughout the day. For oily days and the heat of the summer, this was my perfect powder.

Coastal Scents Camo Quad in Medium has been my favourite facial concealer because of it's versatility, coverage, and gel-like texture. I can mix and match to get my perfect shade no matter the season, and use the white and dark colours for highlighting/contouring if I want. The packaging for this is a bit of a bummer as it comes apart, making it not so travel-friendly, but the product inside is a definite favourite.

I never used to pay any attention to my brows, but when I rediscovered the Maybelline Define A Brow in Dark Blonde in my collection this year I realized what a difference it can make. This pencil is great for a quick, light application that doesn't look too dark with my blonde hair, but really does help to frame my face.
The ELF Lip Exfoliator is something I'm not sure I've ever talked about on this blog, but it has been a silent favourite ever since I bought it earlier in 2014. It's an easy, mess free way to quickly rid my lips of dry skin before applying any other lip products. The super sweet scent and taste I could do without, but the results are worth it!

EOS lipblam is a winner for the second year running. While I don't think it is the most moisturizing lib balm out there, I still find myself reaching for it before others because it sticks around on the lips and makes a great lipstick base. The formula is not too thick or thin, and let's be honest it's also just fun to put on and easy to find in the bottom of my purse.

Maybelline's Colour Whisper in Lust for Blush was my go-to average lip colour this past year. The formula is beautiful - moisturizing but not too slick that it immediately disappears - and the colour is the perfect neutral to cool medium nude-pink. No mirror required. The fact that it smells like fruit loops isn't too shabby either.

Another month has come and gone, and that means that Fall is officially upon us. This month I have a bit of a mishmash of items, so let's just crack on and get this show started!
The Remington T-Studio Silk Ceramic Hair Dryer was an accidental favourite this month. When I found myself out of town for a wedding without a hair dryer, I finally decided to upgrade my nearly ten year old clunker for something with a little more contemporary. This not only dries my hair faster, it makes it ridiculously smooth. I love that this dryer has a switch to keep the cool air on permanently for when I have a little extra time and want to keep the heat damage to a minimum. One thing to beware of: the air intake vent on the back doesn't have a cover to it so watch it doesn't suck your hair back into it - believe me it is not a fun time. If anyone has a possible solution for this that would be so very helpful!
I bought this tube of RapidLash at Ulta when I was on vacation because it seemed like the most accessible eyelash serum available. I was hesitant to start using it because of all the various horror stories that exist on the interwebs, but so far I haven't had any noticeable negative side effects and I really think it is making a difference on my lashes! I haven't been using it for the full four weeks yet (mostly because I am forgetful) but stay tuned for an empties post in the future for my full thoughts!
You probably all know by now that I'm a big fan of audiobooks. I recommend Audible to everyone I know, because who couldn't use a little multitasking goodness in their life? I "read" a few books this month, but my absolute favourite was What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. Alice has an accident at the gym that causes her to forget the past ten years of her life, taking her mentally back to when she was pregnant with her first child. This is one of those books that really makes you think, and throughout the whole book I desperately wanted to know what was coming next.
If you are a fan of Moroccan Oil, you would be dying over this Tahitian Orange & Musk candle from the Muskoka Candle Company. I have been so stingy with burning it because I won't be able to restock for two more weeks, but I am so happy to say I've finally found an accessible dupe! The Baltic Black Pearl Candle currently at B&BW is as similar a scent as I have ever come across. The Tahitian Orange & Musk is the perfect balance of warmth and richness with the tiniest bit of sweetness without being overpowering. Literally the perfect fall scent. Even Tyler - who hates scented anything - loves it! Definitely check out the B&BW version if you get the chance!
A shout out goes out here to Alyssa who reminded me that Essie makes polishes outside the pastel family. I picked  Bahama Mama up during September to replace my beloved Sally Hansen Flirt which is nowhere to be found. It seems a strange name for a deep burgundy shade, but it is absolutely beautiful on the nails! The perfect balance between a red and a straight up purple.
I don't think I really even need to say anything more except I am officially obsessed with my Inglot shadows. For more info you can check out my Review and Swatches
Battling with the "back to school" virus that seemed to make it's way to me this month, I rediscovered this gem. The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightner was perfect for perking up my face and hiding those pesky dark circles that seem to have become my nemisis.
The Sugar Crush scent from Soap & Glory makes for hands down the best smelling body products in the history of the world. After falling in love with the scrub over the summer I decided to bite the bullet and cough up the $20 for the Body Buttercream, and I don't regret it one bit. It smells amazing and absorbs surprisingly fast for a thicker body cream. It's not the most moisturizing out there, but the fact that I look forward to putting it on when I get out of the shower makes it entirely worth it for someone who usually takes the lazy approach to moisturizing aka skips it.
Last but not least, a bittersweet favourite. Again I bought this Sleepytime Vanilla tea originally on vacation and loved it so much that I even went back for another box before we left Orlando. I've been having a cup of this almost every night before bed and it is both relaxing and tastes amazing! So far I haven't been able to find it in Canada so I'll be sad when this box bites the dust, but I highly recommend it to anyone with easy access.

And that wraps it up for this month! So tell me, what are a few of your favourite things this month?

Wednesday, 3 September 2014

It's that time again! Time to bid August a fond farewell and head on into the fall. I'll miss the summer, but I must say I'm looking forward to the sweaters, headbands and scarves. Just don't remind me I said that come December. On to my favourites for the month, brought to you by Mia and Kelli!
Hawaiian Tropic was a huge saviour for me this month. The Silk Hydration Sunscreen quickly became my favourite body sunscreen because it is moisturizing but non-greasy. I don't even have to wash my hands after applying, so that's a good sign. The After-Sun Moisturizer is something that is well loved my me and all my friends. A little too much fun in the sun? This stuff is amazingly soothing and it smells incredible.
Essie's Topless and Barefoot was definitely my most worn polish of the month. It is super flattering on my cool-toned skin, and it's the easiest colour to pair with every outfit. I'm not sure how it will look once I've lost my tan, but it has gotten its fair share of ware this summer!
Can we just talk about how beautiful this L'Oreal Silkissime liner is? It may be called "Plum" but it really is more of a navy with a purple undertone. The formula is so smooth and blendable, but once it sets it doesn't budge. I will definitely be checking out more colours from this line.
Can you tell this product has been well loved? The Maybelline Cover Stick in Medium is always a must for summer vacations and weekends at the lake. It's a waterproof formula that has great coverage and is easy to blend with the warmth of your fingers. Perfect for long humid days.
Speaking of vacations, this Ecotools Retractable Kabuki has been my travel companion during the past month. It works especially well to provide some serious coverage to powder foundations, but can be used for setting powders as well. Even better: it's sanitary and space efficient.
I got this rollerball of Flowerbomb in a gift box at Christmas and added it to my collection of desk drawer essentials, but this month I seemed to be using it much more than usual. Perhaps it smells even better in the warmer weather? Whatever it is, I have loved using and traveling with it all month long.
This Milani Multitasker Face Powder was a favourite last summer, but it wasn't until this month that I really busted it out again. The coverage is so buildable and kept me looking fresh with a satin finish even during the hot, humid days. Hopefully my tan sticks around so I can continue using it this fall!
I'm sure you all have heard the rave reviews of Stila's Stay All Day eyeliner by now so I'll keep it brief. When it says stay all day, it means business! I caved and bought another one while I was at Ulta. Even though the price tag is a bit steep, I think it is definitely worth the hype.
And last but not least, a little fashion favourite. These ruffled tanks became an outfit staple this month. They are so comfortable while still being flattering for a loose tank. For such a low price from Forever 21 give me ALL the colours!

Phew, that was a long one, I hope you stuck it out! So tell me, what was your favourite product this month?
